Duane Acklie
Five years after Duane Acklie began serving as chief counsel for Crete Carrier Corp., he purchased the company and began its transformation into one of the largest privately owned trucking firms in the country. Acklie was also instrumental in the deregulation of the trucking industry during the late 1970s and early 1980s. A Madison, Nebraska native, Acklie earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He later served as a Commissioner of the Nebraska State Highway Commission.
