Alexander Payne
Alexander Payne has rapidly become one of the top filmmakers of his generation, creating such award-winning movies as Election, About Schmidt and Sideways. Payne graduated from Omaha’s Creighton Prep High School before receiving degrees from Stanford University and UCLA. The 1996 comedy Citizen Ruth marked Payne’s feature-film debut. In 2005, he and his writing partner, Jim Taylor, won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for Sideways.
