1993 Distinguished Nebraskans Award Recipient

Peter G. Peterson

Peter Peterson, a Kearney native, thrived as the Chairman and CEO of Bell and Howell Corporation before serving as Secretary of Commerce during President Nixon’s administration. Since then, Peterson has spoke out about the United States’ federal deficit as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (2000-2004) and as senior chairman of the Blackstone Group, an investment management firm he co-founded in 1985.
